Making Love

**Disclaimer** The following story in no way reflects subject matters normally discussed with our 3 year old. Also, it is helpful to know that Jack has been learning sign language at school.

Last night we decided to go to dinner with all 3 boys at a relatively nice restaurant called Burton's Grill. In our arsenal of goodies to keep Jack quiet and entertained were Spider-Man themed Crazy 8 cards and Jack and I were looking through the cards and talking about them.

Que the waitress who walks up to the table right as Jack looks at the card pictured below and says very loudly,

"Look! Spider-Man is making love!"As if that weren't bad enough, we finished laughing hysterically and went back to our dinner. Jack grew bored of his cards so we started to practice counting. Jack counted all of his fingers and I proceeded to ask him how many toes, eyes, ears, etc he has.

Que the waitress again who walks up to the table right as Jack says,

"What about my nipples? How many nipples do I have? I have 2 nipples. I have 3 nipples. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. I have 10 nipples."

Ah, kids say the darndest things :)

Random Observation

So I was getting ready to change the blog background and picture header when I noticed something that made me want to keep it a bit longer. Did anyone (all 3 of my loyal blog readers out there!) notice that Henry is holding up 3 fingers in the above picture?? Haha--kinda perfect considering the blog title!!!

Robin Wren Designs

I bought these onesies last summer at a boutique on Mackinac Island while vacationing in Michigan and I absolutely fell in love with them. Of course we didn't know then if we were having boys, girls or one of each so I tried to find the most "unisex" designs. I think they are so sweet and simple and look adorable on my boys :)

Birthdays Galore!

Last Saturday Jack had not one but TWO birthday parties to attend. The first was for our playgroup friend Caleb at JW Tumbles and Jack had a blast. He was fearless on the zipline (much to Mommy's surprise) and asked if I would buy him one for Christmas!Of course anything involving jumping is a hit!
And giant parachutes always make things more fun! Thanks Caleb for inviting us. We had a great time!
Daddy took Jack to the 2nd party of the day for Jack's school friend Gabe. It was also at a children's gym but Daddy didn't take any pictures. He did, however, bring Jack home with a nice shiner! Neither Jack nor Daddy knew how he got it and luckily it was mostly gone the next day!

Snowmaggedon!

Just when we thought the snow was gone for the year, the very next weekend Snowmaggedon hit and it hit big. We had plans to go to Nana and Papa's house in Charlottesville and decided to still venture up there for the weekend. We packed the car with all THREE kids and TWO dogs and drove the 3 hours to their house for the weekend. We apparently got there just in time because the very next morning we woke up to several inches of snow. The final snowfall amount was close to 15 inches piled onto the already existing 8 inches---that's right folks, 22 inches total!!! Jack and Wrigley were in cold white heaven.Since Nana and Papa live in the mountains, we decided to take full advantage of the topography and go sledding. The ironic thing was that we had to bring our sled from Illinois to Virginia to use it for the first time.
We weren't sure whether Jack would be scared or intimidated about sledding so we started him out small. He proved to be fearless so we moved to the bigger hill on the other side of the house. Apparently it was "AWESOME"!!!

Snowpocalypse!

Excuse me! There must be some sort of confusion because we thought we left Chicago last year and left those nasty winters behind us! Alas, it seems as though Old Man Winter followed us back to Virginia! When the first round of wintry whiteness (a.k.a. Snowpocalypse) hit Virginia Beach the whole city panicked and shut down so we were stuck in the house for days. Jack didn't mind, of course, because it meant that he could play outside. You see, even though he witnessed an unnatural amount of snow while living in Chicago he unfortunately doesn't remember it at all so this year it was as if he had never seen snow before. Needless to say, he loved it.

Just like his Daddy he insists on wearing his sunglasses everywhere. As you can see, he was so anxious to get out and play that he forgot to take the price sticker off his new glasses and didn't seem to be too bothered by the dark spot in his vision :)Snow angels!!!!

She Can't Take a Hint

Someone should really inform Wrigley that it will be a few years before the twins can throw the tennis ball back to her!

He's A Funny Kid

Jack is becoming such a big kid and he's a got a personality to match. Everyday we continue to be pleasantly surprised at how much our little man is growing into such a sweet and intelligent child who plays hard and loves even harder. Some days are definitely not without their challenges. To be honest his occasional fits would make Super Nanny cringe. I remember watching that show before I had kids and thinking, "If my kid ever threw a fit like that..." or "If my kid spit at me..." and I sat in judgment of those parents. Now, however, I realize that as much as we discipline him and constantly work to make Jack the best person he can be, he is still going to throw the random fit and he will kick and scream (and yes, even spit!). Yet, for all those "bad" moments where Daddy and Mommy question where they went wrong and why our sweet little boy is behaving like a monster there are a million more amazing moments with Jack that make us feel so blessed. He loves his family so much that sometimes I think his heart could bust. Not a day goes by that he doesn't tell us he loves us a dozen times. He hugs with full force and recently requests to give us kisses on the our cheeks. He is incredibly smart (sometimes it actually scares us) and has a memory that is often shocking. He can hear or see something once and remember it, especially if we are driving somewhere in the car (he has a much better sense of direction than his Mommy!). He constantly strives to learn more and questions EVERYTHING! We love him so much and hope that the 2 new additions are just like him.

A few funny antidotes:

--Jack likes Daddy to drive him to school because Daddy gives in to Jack's request to turn the music up "bery loud". Jack also requests to listen to the "angry music". What is "angry music" you ask? Apparently Jack really enjoys heavy metal and literally head bangs and rocks out in his car seat. Mommy and Daddy don't listen to this music but Jack heard it one day when Daddy was scrolling through the radio stations and Jack became hooked! Uncle Dave should be so proud :)

--Last Saturday morning Jack came into our room at his usual 7am wake up time. Daddy and I were bleary-eyed from a night spent with the babies and were slowly waking up. I told Jack to go into his room to take his pull-up off, go potty, and put on underwear (he still wears a pull-up to bed). A few minutes later Jack called me into his room and I thought he needed help in the bathroom. I walked into the bathroom and the following conversation took place:
Mommy: Jack, why is there water all over the floor?
Jack: That's not water Mommy.
Mommy: What is it then?
Jack: I pee-peed in a dixie cup and poured it on the floor!!
