Hold Your Breath

When we tell Jack to hold his breath in the pool, this is what he does:Hilarious!

End Of Year Picnic

Jack's school threw an awesome end of year picnic and Papa just happened to be in town to attend with us!There was a gigantic bounce house...
and tattoos...(this is Jack's signature "the sun is in my eyes" face)
and snowcones (notice the face!)

We had a great time!

Just Laying Around

Just because pictures with 2 babies are cute :)

We're All About Playin'

The twins really love to play with toys, way more than Jack did at this age. We are thankful for this considering it is almost impossible for one of us to solely keep them entertained! Their play methods could not be more different and it is so cute to see their different personalities emerge when they they interact with the toy at hand.

Will is intense. Very intense. As I have said before, he often gets angry at his toys if they don't do exactly what he wants. He bangs on them. He yells at them. He generally unleashes his wrath.Henry is so laid back and just plays with whatever is in front of him. He is content with whatever the toy decides to do and has very little expectations. He is relatively easy to please :)

This Is How We Roll...

Grommett Island

Last weekend we took Jack to play at Grommett Island, an incredible new playground at the oceanfront built so that handicapped and fully capable children can play together. It really is a special place. Jack had so much fun!Really, though, how could he not when his playground is located HERE??!!
Henry and Will pretty much did this the whole time.

This was by far Jack's favorite part. As you can see, Daddy wasn't sure at first that super skinny Jack had enough upper body strength to hold on but he proved quickly that it was a walk in the park.
Jack cried, cried, cried when it was time to leave because he was having so much fun. He then proceeded to tell us that he was playing with his high school friends. Say what??

Too Much Fun

Apparently Will and Henry couldn't take all the fun at the bay on Saturday. After a short power nap they were ready once again to hit the waves :)

Hello There

Do you think we look alike?

Do Not Disturb

Jack is potty trained--mostly. He still wears a pull up to bed because he rarely can get through an entire 12 hours of sleep without wetting the bed. Unfortunately sometimes he doesn't believe us when we remind him that if he wears underwear, he will make his bed wet and uncomfortable. In fact, some nights after we put him to bed he gets up and changes into underwear. Now, I am all for him wearing underwear and even wetting the bed occasionally in order to train him to not the wet the bed anymore. However, 5 nights in a row of changing sheets at 2 am can get a bit annoying!! A few weeks ago Daddy checked on Jack before we headed to bed and discovered that Jack had once again changed into underwear and wet the bed. He got him out of bed and took his wet pants off. We then discovered that Jack didn't have any more pull ups in his room so I had to run to the garage to grab more. Apparently I took too long and Jack was ready to go back to sleep. He curled up on the floor, covered himself up and fell back asleep. What the below picture doesn't show, thankfully, is that Jack was still completely naked from the waist down!!!!

Little Fishy

Jack started swim lessons at Dive Quarters and he is in 3 year old heaven. Thirty minutes of one-on-one instruction every week makes for one happy little boy! Every week he asks us if we remember where Dive Quarters is located and even though we always say yes we remember, he proceeds to remind us that it is located next to Trader Joe's :)Do you think his goggles were a little too tight?

Hopefully Jack can finish out his lessons because we are afraid they are going to ban him from coming back. For the past 2 weeks, Jack has swallowed too much pool water and puked in the pool with 5 minutes left in his lesson! Nice, right? Of course they have to clear the pool to clean it and we get nasty scowls and comments from the other parents. Ugh so gross and so embarrassing!

Play That Funky Music

Jack has a weird obsession with musical greeting cards. He has been known to pick out a card as his "treat" when shopping and then we are forced to listen to 10 seconds of "Kung Foo Fighting" or "Play That Funky Music" over and over and over and over and over :) The other day in Target I had to pick up a few birthday cards. Of course Jack picked up a few too and made himself extremely happy!

There Are No Words...

it simply melts me.

Pickin Time!

So you can't live in Virginia Beach and not go strawberry picking in May. Luckily we live 10 minutes from Pungo so it was a quick, fun trip. We decided to head out on Mothers' Day and it was seriously the most perfect way to spend my day with my boys.

Yep, we're a family of 5!!!

5 Months Old, Really??!!

Sooo, we've been MIA the past few weeks. It seems as though life is catching up to us and there simply are not enough hours in the day to be a full time mom and a full time business owner, plus all the other "jobs" I try to hold. But, I am trying very hard to take a few minutes every day to do something that I enjoy and keeping this blog updated is one of those things. Hopefully I can stay more on top of it!

So, how did the past 5 months fly by so quickly? Seriously, Will and Henry are already 5 months old!! I love this baby stage--they are roly poly, cuddly, smiley and their personalities are shining. Ugh, melt me.

Having twins is definitely a challenge but it so much more of a blessing. Having two incredibly sweet and loving babies look at you with love in their eyes and huge smiles makes all the hard work more than doubly worth it!

So, here's a quick run down of what these two have been up to!

Mr. William--Will is such a happy baby and seems to live life passionately. He LOVES LOVES LOVES his toys--so much so that he hits them and yells at them when he can't make them do what he wants and eventually cries until Mommy, Daddy or Jack help him out! He smiles constantly and has a belly laugh that makes everyone else laugh too. He is super temperature sensitive--if he's hot he will definitely let you know and it usually isn't pleasant. He likes tummy time but is just as happy to lay on his back on his play mat. He eats like a champ but is also very messy. He could care less if half his bottle spills out of his mouth or he wipes his hand in sweet potatoes and then smears it all over his face. At his four month check up (yes, I realize I am a month late in reporting) he came in at a whopping 16 lbs 6 oz and 24 1/2 inches long!!!! He is an easy baby but could absolutely sleep more. He seems to have some sort of weird internal clock that only allows him to take 40 minute naps. He wakes up 40 minutes on the dot, EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! I am longing for the day he gets into the 2 hour nap routine!!!

Mr. Henry
Oh, those ears. I could still eat them up! Henry is so laid back and easy going. He seems to just sit back and take the world in, observing everything around him. He loves to play but is just as happy to be held and cuddled. He learned to roll over first, which is funny because he used to despise tummy time. However, once he could get to his tummy on his own, he literally was on a roll and we can't stop him from doing it. He seems to be more of a finicky eater than Will (much like his big brother). He is picky about which bottles he will eat from and if he doesn't want any baby food, he will purse his lips and literally turn his head away! He is obviously not wanting for food though. At his four month check up he came in at 16 lbs and 24 3/4 inches long. I think all 3 boys will be towering over me by the time they are 10 years old. He is a better sleeper than Will, although by no means perfect, and is getting on a better sleep schedule every day.

The twins absolutely adore Jack and literally light up when Jack walks in the room. It is so fun to see the bond that the twins share (holding hands, reaching for each other, calming each other down) but it is also amazing to know that the 3 boys will share such a special relationship.

I am simply madly in love with my 3 boys!
