Well its official! We not only have 2 sitters, we have 2 crawlers! Lord help us because these boys are going to be trouble. Seriously, we can already tell that they are going to get into EVERYTHING and will just encourage each other to push the limits :) Don't they already have the faces of troublemakers??!!
We're a little behind in our blogging and didn't actually do 6 month updates. The twins will be 8 months on September 3rd!!! Where has the time gone? At the 6 month check up they both weighed a little more than 20 pounds and were over 27 inches long! They are big boys!
People still ask us if they are identical (they aren't) but to us they look and act so differently. They really are just brothers born on the same day :)
This is Will, also affectionately called Willie G (in fact, Jack only calls him that!):
Will is still intense. Super intense. He is forceful in everything he does and every look he gives. He loves his toys and the dogs and basically thinks that Jack is the funniest person on the planet. He loves to eat and will eat almost everything but I can see picky eating habits starting to develop :( He sat up first, crawled first, pulled himself up first, and will most definitely walk first. He has the cutest, most genuine laugh and he wrinkles his nose when he is really trying to smile. He still has red hair, blue eyes, and pale skin and completely melts me every time I look at him.
This is Henry:
Henry is so so sweet. He has such a gentle spirit and looks at you like he knows way more at his age than he should. He loves to be held and cuddled and hates to be left in a room by himself. He also worships Jack and bounces up and down as soon as he sees him. He loves to eat and doesn't really care what you feed him as long as it comes as fast as he can swallow! His hair has lightened considerably this summer from being in the sun but his eyes are still dark brown. He is also just like his daddy because he gets a tan after being outside for 5 minutes with 50 spf sunscreen on! Every time this child gives me one of his slow deliberate glances I am floored at my love for him.
As sweet as these boys are, there is one thing that continues to challenge us--SLEEP! Turns out that sleep training twins is no easy task. "Crying it out" doesn't really work when the other baby falls asleep. When one wakes up, the other is frequently awoken either by his brother or by one of us trying to get the awake one out of the nursery! On top of that, they are still taking short naps. We are lucky if they sleep more than an hour but most naps are still only 40 minutes, no matter what we do to lengthen them. On top of all of that, they finally figured out that they share a room so they often laugh at each other through the slats in the cribs instead of trying to sleep! Its funny and sweet but at this point I would much rather have them sleep!!! They were actually great sleepers until we went on vacation which also happened to coincide with teething (they each have 2 now) so we are trying desperately to overcome the extreme fussiness that teething brought on and get back on a normal schedule!
